A VERY long blog... just trying to catch up.

I have realized that either my life is really boring or I just don't get around to blogging very often. I am thinking that it is the "not getting around to it" more so then "my life is boring." I will try to do better.

Yesterday Rob and I went to the driving range to hit a couple of balls, or should I say a couple of buckets of balls. We have a friend who has decided he wants to help Rob and I golf. So we meet at the driving range once a week or so and our friend Andy teaches us how to golf. It has become something that I really look forward to. I am just beginning to golf. The first time that I actually hit the ball was last July. But Rob has been great and I already have my own set of PINK clubs and drivers, a PINK and PURPLE golf bag to hold them all, my own PINK golf balls, a PINK glove, and for Valentines day he bought me my first pair of golf shoes they aren't pink because they didn't have any pink ones available. I also have a PINK titleist hat. So I have all the necessary gear to play.

As Andy started helping me he realized that I hadn't been playing for very long and he got really excited because I don't have bad habits to teach around. I am so new to all this that I can learn the right things in the beginning. Just in the past 3 weeks or so I have already learned how to position my body correctly and hit the ball up in the air and straight. I'm not perfect of course, but I have a good foundation. I can't hit the ball as far as Rob yet, but I am getting there. Here in New Mexico there are a lot of great golf courses and just up the street from Rob and I is one of the best courses in the United States.

I really love to play golf. It is one of those games where even if you are competeing against someone else you are really only competeing against yourself. That's a good thing for me because I don't like to get competetive with anyone but me. I like to do my best and work hard but if there is someone trying to go against me I will just sit back and let them. So with this sport I feel like I have control of the outcome. I also like this sport because alot of it is in your mind. You have to make sure your body is aligned right and that you are holding the club right. You have make sure that your head stays down and that you twist your upper body but not your legs. It takes so much focus. Andy said that if I keep practicing and working on it I have the potential to be a very good golfer. I have never been good at any sport so the thought of having something that is physical that I am pretty good at is a very exciting idea for me. I hope that I will continue to love this sport.

Valentines Day was a nice relaxing day. The day before I had my V-day party at school with my kids which was really fun. I have always loved v-day at school. My kids spoiled me with little gifts that I will always cherish. The actually day of Valentines Rob and I of course went golfing. It was actually pretty cold but we still ended up playing for about 11 holes. After that we went and bought heart shaped pizza's from Papa Murpheys and went home for a night inside. I didn't really want to go out to eat because there would be so many people we would have ended up waiting in line for an hour. I liked getting our pizza and spending the night at home. We blew up our air matress and layed in the living room watching cute chick flicks. It was really fun. I had a great time. Rob and I both got a pair of golfing shoes.

Rob started a new job about two weeks ago. We are so relieved to finally be back in the game of life. For awhile there we were pretty much holding on for dear life. His new job is called BJ Services. He will be going out to the oil field rigs pumping concrete. It's a good thing for him because his job is paying for him to get his CDL license. In the oil field that is a must have. He already passed all his tests and so now he is just taking the classes. He has his permit so he has been driving around town learning how to manuver the trucks. He really seems to like it and I am glad that he has a job that he is enjoying. This is a great company to work for. All of the people that Rob has talked to that has worked there said that they were there for a really long time and the only reason that they left was because they were offered a job that was a step up from where they were. So Rob will not be leaving this job very soon (knock on wood).

I am counting down the days until school is out. I am so anxious I can hardly contain myself. We have only 63 days left of school. That is roughly 3 more months. I love this time of the year. This is when it starts getting warmer and we can start doing really fun science activities and the field trips start up. And in more recent days I have started loving my job again. It's amazing what happens when you have supportive parents. I am feeling much better about all the things going on at my school.

Well I will try to keep up on the blogging so that next time it's not nearly as long.
